NERA – No need for resharpening

Resharpen dental instruments, especially smaller ones, has always been a major challenge for all users (doctors, dentists, or assistants), because very few can carry out this task, that requires very good manual skills, without compromising the integrity of the instrument itself.
That is why there are different types of sharpeners on the market, either manual or electric, that should help solve this problem. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case.
Hence, we have developed a new range of instruments that, by using new nano-technologies, through the deposition of extremely hard and resistant ceramic materials, tackles the root of the problem, and cancels or significantly reduces the need for resharpening.
To achieve this, we started from raw materials, using only higher quality stainless steels, that underwent rigorous heat treatments and were meticulously sharpened in-house. Tips were then DLC coated.
DLC stand for “Diamond-Like Carbon” and is obtained by combining two different types of natural carbon bonds, diamond and graphite.
Moreover, the process takes place at low temperatures, exploiting vacuum deposition with the help of Plasma, without affecting the hardening and mechanical characteristics of the steel underneath.
The result is high resistance to abrasion and wear (High hardness), low friction coefficient (Non-stick) and excellent chemical inertia (Corrosion resistance).
And, not least, full biocompatibility.
