Extra Virgin Olive Oil

New challenge of Leonardi’s family who has bought the estate “Baglio Vento” with 6 hectares of olive trees and destinated to eradication in Sciacca, in western part of Sicily.

In cooperation with Palermo’s University, they started a new project of recovery, beginning from a massive pruned of the trees, populating it with new olive oil trees, where missing. Finally they invested in a new and efficient irrigation system.

The estate is cultivated with the best trees of Cerasuola, Nocellara del Belice, Biancolilla and Tonda Iblea.

After the harvesting, olives are cold pressed within 12 hours to minimize the oxidaton and so the acidity.

Final result is a fine Extra Virgin Olive oil with a green, shiny colour. The smell is fruity of just picked-up olives, with a slight herbaceous tone, hints of tomato and artichoke and an almond aftertaste, with slight spicy sensations.
